What is this project?

MARIAN is a three-year Erasmus+ project (2024–2027) focused on fostering social inclusion for children from Refugee, Migrant, and Minority (RMM) backgrounds by providing high-quality, culturally relevant education. The project integrates Montessori principles, creative technologies, and a STEAM approach to transform the teaching and learning of Mathematics. By empowering teachers with innovative methodologies and engaging lesson plans, MARIAN aims to make math more accessible, meaningful, and inclusive, with a special emphasis on encouraging girls’ participation in STEM fields.

What Will We Do?

✔ Curriculum and Lesson Plan Development – Create a collection of creative, interactive, and culturally relevant lesson plans for primary and lower secondary education.

✔ Teacher Training – Organize hands-on workshops and provide online resources, including a MOOC, to equip teachers with innovative methods that enhance their teaching strategies.✔ Classroom Implementation – Partner schools will pilot the MARIAN method to refine and enhance teaching approaches.
✔ Educational Networking – Build a collaborative teacher support network to ensure sustainability and continued learning exchange.

Who Are We?

The project is led by Universitat de Girona (Spain) in collaboration with Action Synergy (Greece), Etaireia Ereynas (Greece), Società Cooperativa Sociale Zaffiria (Italy), Centar Za Tvorchesko Obuchenie (Bulgaria), Waterpark Montessori International (Ireland), and Liceul Tehnologic Constantin Ianculescu Carcea (Romania).
