European Montessori College (EMC) and Sarasota University are proud to announce their collaboration in developing and launching a dual-enrollment option. 

No matter what level of Montessori credential you are seeking, you can also earn credit toward a Bachelor’s of Science or Master’s of Arts degree at the same time. Applicants must commit to the degree program by the end of their first module at EMC. 

Students must complete some additional assignments during their credentialing program (EMC Diploma) in order to earn degree credits. Upon completion of the EMC credentialing process, students will be able to earn the degree by finishing the Sarasota University program of study. The study for Sarasota is 100% online.

Students may choose from a Bachelor’s of Science in Montessori Education, a Master’s of Arts in Montessori Education, or a Master’s of Arts in Montessori Leadership. Applicants for the Master’s Degree programs must already hold a Bachelor’s degree. 

At the end of each EMC/Waterpark module, adult learners are required to submit a summary project to Sarasota University to review their learning and synthesize learning to earn college credit.

Bachelor’s Degree candidates enrolling in dual enrollment with the EMC/Waterpark credential, will earn up to 30 credits/10 courses toward the degree. Master’s Degree candidates will earn up to 18 credits/6 courses toward the degree.

College credits earned through dual enrollment cost $300/course. Adult learners pay the full cost of the EMC/Waterpark credential.

Tuition for the remaining courses at Sarasota University is currently $400/credit or $1200/course at the Masters level and $300/credit or $900/course at the undergraduate level.

EMC/Waterpark enrollees have until the end of the first module of their training to be enrolled in the Dual enrollment program.

Although the guidelines require you to enroll no later than the end of the first module of your EMC course, you may request an exception. The Sarasota University admissions director can submit this request to the Provost on your behalf.  

To request an exception, you must first complete the SU admissions process by submitting your application and all required admission documents. Once your request is approved and the enrollment agreement is signed, you will be assigned a professor who will create a schedule for your make-up assignments.  

Please note that Dual Enrollment fees for the first part of your certification course will still apply, as fees are due at the start of each module.

Bachelor’s Degree candidates must bring with them 60 credit hours of foundational work.  This can include credits earned elsewhere and other credits for prior learning, such as a work portfolio, professional development, and experience. Applicants for the Master’s Degree programs must already hold a Bachelor’s degree.
